Default Deep Red or Red for LEDEngin 5w

Building a new saber. Should I go Deep Red or Red for an LEDEngin 5w? Which is brighter?

USe a deep red. It will give you the sith color you are looking for.

VId of one of my sabers that uses it. Really great color representation once the lights are out.

The guy I am building for wants the brightest. If they are pretty much the same brightness I'll go with the better color, but if the regular red is a lot brighter then I might want to go with that.

Bit of a difference between, Deep red and standard. Deep has a more Sithy Redish purple feel, check out:

Standard Red has a more orange glow, the difference is Deep Red looks more red, but slightly darker, and red is bright, but has a orange tinge.

Thanks Tarrell that was helpful. I'm not sure I want to go 10w. Anyone else want to chime in on the difference between the red and deep red brightness wise?

I have used pretty much P4s and Deep reds. I can't tell the difference brightness wise. Back when they had LUxIII red/Os... those were amazing bright. but now I stick to either of those depending on what the want the color to be. pretty much the same luminosity to the eye IMO.

As well, you can't really compare two leds of different colors. The eye picks them up differently. You might have to grab one of each and look for yourself.

I have used Deep Red, Far Red and Red...and I cannot tell the difference. They are all a nice crimson color and are uber bright as long as they are properly driven. Just pick one...you will be very happy with the results.

Its right that the ledengin 5w has about the same electrical needs like a 3w LED like P4s, Luxes and so on so you could wire it in a MR Soundboard setup right?
If so the other colors like Ledengin blue and green should perform better than P4s, Luxes right?

    Question just for confirmation purposes...

    Thanks in advance
