Thread: Graflex adapter thread sizes?

  1. #1

    Default Graflex adapter thread sizes?

I just got a TCSS Graflex adapter (which, by the way, looks much better than the photos in the store--beautiful satin finish). There are three holes in the bottom, presumably for rods that would form the frame for a chassis. They are about 3mm in diameter, but I had no luck trying to put an M3-size screw in them. (I didn't want to strip the threads, so I didn't force it.) Are these holes 4-40? If they are, I should be able to re-tap them to M3 size, since M3 and 4-40 are pretty close.

I ask because metric is standard where I live (Japan), and English-size taps and screws are hard to find and expensive.

    Thanks!

I haven't gotten a response, but I'm pretty sure the holes are 4-40. I retapped them with an M3 tap, then threaded a 3mm brass rod with an M3 die and it fits fine. Thanks.
