Thread: Dominos Morbius, The Plague Lord - fully MHS Saber Spear

  1. #1

Default Dominos Morbius, The Plague Lord - fully MHS Saber Spear

Made up of 12 hilt sections, from a 4in Double Female Grooved to a few 10in extensions and more, this is a fully T6 metal MHS Saber Spear. Total length of the spear is 70in, the metal hilt being 51in with a 19in blade showing from the holder (US UltraEdge thick-walled). It will have a Rebel Green LED in a few days to match its name style, but currently has a P4 Red LED running via a 1k BuckPuck on 4AAs (camera makes the LED look a tad pinkish).

    Very interesting.

Personally, I'd have a longer blade on it, but to each their own.

Now you just need to mount a PC in there and get some bangin' sound going!
When your lightsabers gutter and die in your hands,
your blaster packs run dry of charge,
your words of power dry up in your throat and I am still standing,
    what will you do then?

I like it very much, a pommel spike would top it off though.

there's no hiding that thing...but seriously I like it.

Kinda looks like the staffs that the emperor's guards would have.

Personal taste on the blade it would seem. I have always been of the mind that a Spear for spinning should not be much longer than the wielder is tall, so the blade is putting the whole spear at just about top-of-head level so it works for me in this case.

I had looked into sound for the build, but being a 'club night' device it will need to run non-stop for 6-8 hours. Sadly a PC and recharge pack won't give me anywhere near that time frame of use. Even switching out packs would mean having to carry as many as 6+ packs (on those long nights) and then the sound would still be lost in the activity of the club and other city sounds.

I had considered it, but pom spikes tend to chop up the floors of clubs and event halls. (o.0) I placed a 1.25in diam rubber washer on the bottom of the pom to protect wood and other types of floors from the sharp and durable T6 metal.

But I'd imagine that thing is heavy, no?
Surprisingly, it's only about 3.2lbs being an aluminum build. I was shocked as well then it was all said and done.

This is sort of the direction I was going when considering the build. I had gotten tired of seeing only Double Bladed Saber Staves out there (just never cared for the look I guess), so I thought it was time to show people just how zexy a Saber Spear really is.

    THIS. IS. CORUSCANT!! [dramatic kick]

I like it. This style of beamed weapon is so rare to see.

I love it! I've been working on something similar to this out of pvc, for the battery plan you got going on, you could add a quick connector, and fill up the empty sections with a bunch of AAA packs, and just unscrew and swap.
