Make sure to read all the stickies and look into the gallery threads, as they have an amazing wealth of information about building a saber hilt!
it's a little hard to tell exactly what's going on with your MSPaint hilt, so I would suggest using the "MHS Builder" link, located at the top of this forum page, to build your hilt in greater detail so we can see what you're planning.

I made this with the MHS Builder and GIMP hope it is better than the first
To have the skills to design anything,(knowing what to leave OUT being one of the hardest things) is a wonderful talent. I really like your design, good luck building it.
