Thread: Broken saber repair

    Default Broken saber repair

One of my stunt saber has a wire broken. Instead of simply repair it, I thought to upgrade the whole saber. It will use a white P4 (with the colored discs), a NIMH battery pack made by me (I'm referring to this tutorial http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com...ry-Pack-Making), a recharge port and an illuminated AV switch. I'm not sure about the wiring scheme, so I post here a picture.

    Thank you!

Sorry for double post but I have an important update and an edit will not give, in my opinion, enough importance: I studied well the tutorial and I think I made an error. I think I'll go with a guarded style switch, so there will be no room problems. This second setup should work, right?

What color are you hoping to get with the discs?
I tried those and with the exception of purple and yellow, they're not that great. It may be helpful for more unique colors but if you're going for the usual colors, I'd reccomend colored LED's.
Oh, and it's easy to lose those little things...

I know the colors aren't solid with the colored discs because this saber already has a white LED with colored discs, but it is not a high quality LED as TCSS's ones. This saber used a 9V battery and to recharge it I had to use an external charger, accessing the battery unscrewing the choke: this process stressed the wires that are then broken. So I'll upgrade the white original LED to a white P4, the battery to a 4 AAA battery pack with recharge port, so the saber will be a solid one piece .

    Opinions on the wiring scheme?

It looks like one of your connections to the recharge port is missing. This is the diagram I use.

The battery is for a different voltage, but it's the same wiring Just double check the resistor, with your LED, and you'll be fine.
