Thread: Durability Test

  1. #1

    Default Durability Test

As some of you may know, I received and completed my first MHS saber today. I called up my Star Wars fanatic friend (the one who I've asked all the conversion questions for) and he came right over. Mind you this was at 12am on the dot. For the next hour, he stared in awe at my royal blue 3watt luxeon Hellsaber. He then reaches into his truck and retrieves a fully functional stock Vader ESB...and says "Man, I wanna see if yours breaks". I laugh of course, and tell him to go all out. Might I mention that we're both big boys. I'm 6'2" 370lbs and he's 6'3" 330lbs. So we start off light, doin the inro of the Anakin/Obi-Wan fight in RoTS. Then it turns into just straight wacking the holy bejesus out of our sabers.

After all that, his cherry Vader ESB was now sporting about 9 black LEDs, and I was brandishing ONE scratch.

We switch sabers, and I hold out the Vader ESB and say "Baseball swing, all you've got."

Ten swings later, I'm holding a hilt, and he's holding my saber with a few scratches and a missing an end cap. He completely obliterated his saber....and yea, we took pictures. I'll post them when I can get around to it.

Needless to say...it's 4am, and you're gonna be getting some new business Tim. []

    Here's a pic:

I have some and there is a nice vid of me in a topic in Misc. of me beating a pole and the tip doesn't come off. The slowdown shows the blade bend 90 degrees... the tip still stayed on.[] That little bit inside the blade helps SO much.

Corbin sells his for $4... I expect Tim's to be similar.

Tim's will be better as it will be one piece and PolyC. Corbin's work quite well though too.
