battery pack shielding?

recently i have run into an issue that makes me a bit worried and needing some info.

in my MHS i have the batt pack (wired for recharge) above the speaker and the RP in the pomel. seems like the magnet on the speaker has been touching the batt pack and making it hot. Ive checked all connections and made sure for one, everything was wired correctly and two, the everything was properly covered (heatshrink and such)

what could be the issue? and how to solve it? i just got in the MHS gear to add a lil more space but maybe i need to insulate the batt pack?

some thoughts please..

BTW: hot batt pack= warm MHS hilt and Ouch!

um yeah... are you using PVC heatshrink on your battery pack? i use that and fold it over on the ends so it doesn't expose anything. no touchy touchy with that.

well i couldnt find any big enough so i used electical tape.... dumb move?

um... yes... that's rule 1. do not use electrical tape. it insulates and makes a mess.

LOL ok lesson learned then, i will search for where i can purchase it for 4AAA batt pack

you'll want about 42mm for AAA and about 57mm for AA.
