Thread: Ledengin 10W deep red build

Default Ledengin 10W deep red build

I'm working on new build with the following:

    7.4v 14650 1050mAh pack
    CF6
    Ledengin 10w deep red

Assuming I wired the led with 2 sets 2 of dice wired in series, will that battery pack be enough to run it at Full Powah? If so, what kind of run time can I expect? Or will I be forced to go one set for main and the other for FoC? Thanks.

The battery pack is plenty powerful to run that setup.

Full Powah: A little less than half an hour runtime.
FoC: About 45 mins to an hour.

I haven't had my coffee yet, so those are rough estimates. They should be pretty close though.

Thanks for the reply SS. One more question... can I take 2 18500 protected li-ion cells and wire them in series like this to get a 7.4v 18500 side by side pack? Was thinking a pair of AWs would give me something around 1400 mAh and boost my run time.

The challenge for my build is I've got about 4" worth of space in the hilt, but the ID of the hilt is larger than normal mhs. I could save myself some length by going from 14650 to 18500. Thanks.

Short answer is yes. http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com...-Battery-Packs has a detailed description of making your own li-ion packs.

That being said, you should generally avoid making packs with individually protected cells whenever possible. The second post by Azmaria in the thread I linked covers precautions you'll need to take if you have to use protected cells.

If the ID of your hilt is at least as large as the OD of MHS parts, then you should be able to fit your pack inside the hilt. A side-by-side 18650 pack is comfortably snug in a 1.5" sinktube build.
