star wars movies re-released in 3D in 2012!!!

I wish Uncle George would quit messing with the movies, especially the OT. Seems, to me, like he's just doing it to make more money from them.

Instead if messing up the old movies even more, why not spend that time and effort creating brand new stories?!?

Lucasfilm Ltd. announced it on StarWars.com on September 28, 2010. It would be cool to see them all on the "Silver Screen", but in 3D? I think all these 3D movies are a fad, just like in the 80's. To tell the truth, there not all that impressive. Only a handful of scenes are in 3D anyway, so why pay approx. 20% more. I agree with J-Lo, leave them be.

With 3d means it will be shown on 2d too. I think it's great. It gives us the chance to watch the OT on the big screen.
Yes but I still love these too and hey these might pay for and pave the way for a whole new series of movies. Also at the moment they are busy creating SWTOR, wonder if there will be a TOR advert before the movie? that would be where id want my adds if I was BW

We'll see if he holds himself to his word, he's supposed carry on from ROTJ after he releases the previous 6 in 3D. I think it would behoove him to press on and leave the current 6 alone but, I guess, it's easier to make larger profit in retrofits than new product.

As much as we hate it when GL messes with our movies, it IS his baby after all. Fathers perogative I suppose.

I agree LEAVE them alone. while it is his "baby" he meddles to much me think.
Frankly I just want the next 3 installments. Lets get away from the skywalkers for a while!
Also, whatever happend to the live action TV show...did that finally get canned?
