    Post new saber

I haven't posted in a while so here the newest one i am working on

    blade holder style 4
    choke 3
    ribbed extension
    7" fluted section
    pommel 1o
    insert 9

    redp4
    3.3 5 watt resistor
    2AA battery pack
    lens holder
    lens
    DPDT mom switch
    bezel

    recharge port
    kill switch
4 AAA 1000 mah nimh rechargebles

I believe that i have everything that i need for this one

I kind of went back to the drawing board with this one and decided to put a sound board and a recharge system in it
less alkaline batteries to deal with and buy....cost less in the long run

What batteries will you be using?

And the resistor for your switch LED isn't listed.

Use the resistor calculator in the store to get the right resistor for your main LED..

p4 blue takes 1ohm 2W @ 3.6/3.7v.. so Id go with that if your going to direct drive the LED. I hope this helps

Dave, do you even know what forward voltage means?

He needs more than just 3V to light that LED properly.

Your advice isn't really going to help him, because it's incorrect.

The store also says the P4 blue is 3.25V. Not that it matters since 3V is still not enough for that LED.

Not bad. I like your design. Try saving up for the rechargable batteri pack if you can. Maybe you had bad batteries at the time testing out your saber? Try getting new batteries and see if that helps, if you were able to get the correct resistor and all anyway. Other than that night saber. I'm going to be working on a new saber myself in the next few weeks, might be done by May hopefully.

alkalines, due to their higher internal resistance, will only put out 600-800mA at best. switch to NiMH or Li-Ion and you'll be fine.

ok will try that and let you know if works or just a bad led

tried that and still didn't change how dim it was so i'm going with the P4 red that i have on hand

UPDATE: will be putting a PC-L in this saber to make it sound sooo sweet...

it will have a recharge port also ...will be 2nd saber with recharge port ....no more alkalines for me
