Thread: vibro motor

    Default vibro motor

ok so ive been seeing many crystal chambers with a vibro motor in them and i have to ask....why? i understand that the motor would make the saber vibrate...but is it hooked the the clash sensor so its activated on impacts only? or does it make the crystal vibrate....which honestly dont make any sense top me but i thought id throw it out.

Can you provide a link to the sabers thread you are talking about? I have looked at many saber here and can not recall any like you are describing.

I've seen it used while hooked to a PC or CF. It's wired off of the main LED pads so that it will fluctuate with the blade effects...i think.

and here http://ro-lightsaber.blogspot.com/ he talks about a mini vibro motor halfway down the page or a little further.

im thinking the first two posts answered my question though. maybe i should have used the forum search engine before i made this thread.

Cool. I have to say though if you do find the crystal chamber with a rumble motor in it post the thread. I have not seen that one apparently and did not find one when i did a forum search.

As far as mine is concerned

I wanted the vibration to mimic the blade. Kinda like an in-story aspect. If you stop and think about it, in-story a blade makes a sound (hum or clash), a sound is made by vibration. At least thats how I see it.

    Just some info:

Motors are generally used with Crystal Focus setups, and are wired for the flash on clash effect that board has (you can search to find out more about that). Having a motor on all the time would get rather annoying, kinda like having your phone vibrate in your hand ALL the time it's on.
If you wired one to, say, a clash sensor, you wouldn't have much of an effect. The clash sensor goes off for a fraction of a second, so you wouldn't even feel the motor.
