Thread: A Sleek Sith Saber

  1. #1

    Default A Sleek Sith Saber

The client who requested this saber asked for a sleek sith saber. It features an all pvc hilt, 1" thick walled trans white blade from TCSS, 5 degree lens, Lux III red with resistor, silver dot latching switch, & is powered by 4 AAA batteries. Here are the pics.

What did you do to cut the black pieces? (I'm assuming dremel but as it's PVC dust would get everywhere, but if that wasn't a problem then ok.) Are they held by bolts and nuts or just screws? Looks amazing! Especially for a PVC Saber!

that looks really really good! I love what you're able to do with PVC and the emitter in particular!

I may have to hit you up for some advice on a future build soon...

Nope, I'm still here. My father came out to visit for Christmas & wound up staying for a month. I could't get anything done.

Yes, I used a Dremel to get all my cuts. I used a worn down cutting disc to get the smaller cuts, & various drill bits for the holes. I get pvc dust everywhere. I get covered in it, It covers my workstation, but it cleans up easy. I tap the pvc & use screws to hold the shrouds on, & a threaded insert for the blade retention screw.

Beautiful. That pommel adds a nice look.

Is the main hilt made of 1" electrical conduit?
And it also looks like the shroud parts are thinner-walled than typical PVC, but maybe that's just an effect of how you treated the edges.
In any case, it's a really nice finish.
