    Default The Infernus (w.i.p.)

    I am building this for my Padawan, my friends nephew. He wants to be a Sith, so I had to make this as evil looking as I could manage.

    (it figures. I get a Padawan and he's already a dark sider. Some teacher I am. This hopefull wont end with us and a pool of lava. But I am going off on a tangent here...)

    The main body is a steel tube from an old vacuum cleaner I had been saving for just such a project. It's slightly thinner than 1 inch, which is nice because it is comfortable in the hand, but bad because I CANT FIND ANY OTHER TUBING OR PARTS THAT FIT ON IT. Lesson learned for next time.

    It actually started as a Ultrasabers PVC grab bag hilt, but I figured that wouldnt do for any student of mine, even if he is a master-killing sith-in-progress. That is where i got the red LED. Soundboard is from a Economy Vader board that i am currently taking a break from re-soldering the wires after i broke some of them accidentally.

    It is named the Infernus because i heated the tube up to red-hot about three times to achieve the look.

    Interesting effect. To me, it kind of looks like the saber has over-heated a time or two.

    If he's a Sith, your friend's nephew would be your     Apprentice. Only Jedi have Padawans.

    Interesting...

    Especially considering both of them consider what i call burn-weathering.

    But yeah, i think Padentice or Apprentawan will like it.
