backwards saber

I think i saw something on one of the threads that if you do a backwards saber that it will create stress on the pommel? Here is a screen shot of what im talking about.

So.... i think this will work...

with the fluted body you're fine. using the main hilt style 4 you get stress and run the risk of breaking it while dueling.

And you are not going to put stress on the pommel...there is no way that can happen with that setup...and MHS parts aren't going to snap while dueling. If they did, I would have done it already.

the main hilt body is backwards - the switch end towards the pommel and the end that's normally towards the pommel towards the emitter. it's been stated elsewhere that reversing the style 4 hilt body is not recommended because the metal around the threads is thinner and weaker because of the grooves and can possibly snap the part off if you're using it like Caine Drathul or Novastar. ^_~

but the part pictured is the fluted body and that's perfectly fine.

If you plan to use this so the switch hole is towards the pommel please let us know as the last groove over the female threaded end can leave it too weak to be used this way. Its fine if you just have a pommel on that end and do not put a lot of strain on it.

That had me scratching my head for a minute. Like how could you put stress on a pommel? lol. But it's the pommel end of hilt 4.

I bought this part, but I haven't used it yet. If you turn it around so that the switch hole is towards the pommel, the milled out part that makes the stripes is RIGHT next to the threads on the blade holder end. I imagine since it's now thin right by the threads, this makes it very weak and prone to snapping.
