    Post Possible recharge-port location

I am wondering. Is the Machined button for Covertec clip, have the dimensions to recess the recharge-port in the middle, also acting an a anchor for the clip? Is this a good idea?

Many people have done this before and the effect is quite nice IMO, searching covertec recharge should get you some results.

One thing you need to keep in mind is you will nt be able to insert a kill key when the saber is on your belt.

Until I can come up with a Custom, I won't be putting it on my belt. If you would like to know what I have in mind for one look in the Costuming Thread.

    You mean costume right?

Then with a little searching and reading, figuring out how to make it shouldnt be a problem!
If you do make one, be sure to post pics.

As Cardcollector said, this has been discussed before.

Some abandoned the idea because they didn't think the port could take the weight, that it would snap. (?)
This might be possible if your saber is very heavy..

Physics, says a tube(the port) is stronger than a bar (a screw). Therefor it should hold. The main body of my saber is a sink tube, so it is that much lighter.

i'm not so sure that applies to threaded tubes at roughly the same size as the bar, which is also threaded... but the sink tube making it lighter is a plus.

Yes, threads create a weak point. What if I did this? Run the port through a piece of tube ever so slightly bigger, leaving the threads exposed so I can tighten the nut.

not sure... i'm not a mechanical engineer. sounds like it would be stronger though.
