Cool Question about the DPDT illuminated switch

Ok, so I've been searching these forums for months and I've gotten a good deal of information. One thing that I have not come across is good information about the DPDT illuminated switches. Basically, I plan to start buying parts for my next lightsaber build within the next week or so, and I'm making the finishing touches on the blueprints. If anyone has used the DPDT illuminated switches, could you please post how one goes about wiring one? I'm sue that its labeled on the switch, but I want to be 100% sure before I start. If you need more info no my lightsaber, I would be more than happy to provide it. Any help help will be greatly appreciated.

If you look at the middle picture of the switch in the store, it has a pin out of the switch. Here is the link. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/DP...itch-P436.aspx and here is the picture.

this is probably the best info you're going to get (unless you want pictures of how ppl wired them.)

Yes, I've seen that image. I think I have an idea now of how to go about wiring it, but I'm not too sure. The NC1, NC2, NO1, NO2, C1, and C2 sections have me a little confused. If anyone has pictures of how they wired their illuminated switches, please post them here. Also, if anyone can draw up a wiring schematic for it, I would appreciate that.

I will have a schematic that I have made within the next hour or so. I'm not sure if it's done correctly so i might need some help with that too.

Thank you for the help so far guys =]

there are 2 different ways of wiring it. do you want it to light up when you press it? or do you want it always illuminated?

You would wire between the C1 and NO1. C is the common terminal and the NO1 is a normally open terminal. So when you press the switch, it makes contact between C1 and NO1.

C2 and NO2 work the same way. Let me know if you have any questions.

If by pressed, you mean that it is only illuminated when the blade is turned, and remains that way until the blade is turned off, then yes, I only want it to be illumitated when pressed. If not, then always illuminated.

This is a list of the parts that are going into my saber:

    Luxeon III/V Lens Holder
Luxeon Collimator Lens 5 deg viewing angle
    Luxeon III Star
    BuckPuck 1000mA 4-wire
    DPDT Latching blue illuminated switch
    4AAA battery holder
    2.1mm Power Jack

    I hope that helps somewhat.

Also, I'm open to any ideas to add or remove from the list.

The way that I wired the LED to be on when the switch is activated is to run the switch LED in parallel with the blade LED. I

So does that mean that the way you explianed wiring the switch will activate the LED on the switch in sync with the LED of the blade in the way i'm looking for?
