Bah. It seemed like such a neat idea too. I was pretty sure it wouldn't do well in a saber with sound, but I was hoping it'd be cool in a stunt. Oh well, time to keep looking for other neat things with possible saber applications.

I was very disappointed with this product even as a wand. The voice activation doesn't work well at all so you pretty much have to use the manual activation (shake 3 times) to turn on and off. I would not suggest ANYONE waste their money on this item.

sounds like a basic novelty item to me. i think we could rig the shake sensor to a hidden pressure switch on the outside, but the voice recognition issue would still be a failing.

Even if you put the switch on the outside of the saber or hide it somewhere the problem will be when you are dueling with the saber and if it picks up some movments from the saber as 3 shakes it will turn it off. Anytime there is 3 shakes it will turn the device off or on. As for the voice recognition, I had my wife and little girl train different words for on and off for the wand and it was still very unreliable turning on and off with the voice recognition.

That, too. As long as it's a somewhat refined British accent, and not too regional.

That is why I tried it with several different people and it is still very unreliable. My wife doesn't have much of an accent at all and she tried it with the same unreliable results. My little girl like to play with it but she doesn't use the voice activation, she uses the 3 shakes on/off to turn it on.
