Right now Im trying to connect a p4 red led with an anakin rots mr soundboard with a red latching illuminated switch. I was just wondering if I still had to use a resistor in the set up or can the board withstand it without one?

Red P4's can pop if they aren't resistored...and then again they can work fine. It's a crapshoot, really...I have used some with an MR board just fine, and I have burned one out with the same setup as well. If I were you, I would use a 1ohm resistor, just to be safe.
