    Default Birthday/Halloween Lightsaber [PVC]

This was a build for my daughter for Halloween and her Birthday (which happens to be on Halloween). I realize that the colors are probably not very desirable for most of you, but it is for a little girl She has been begging me for one for a couple months now.

All parts other than PVC were ordered from TCSS.

    The Specs:
-Schedule 40 PVC in 1" and 1.25" diameters
-6 coat Pink and Yellow Valspar Plastic Paint, Wetsanded and 4 Layers of Valspar Clear Coat Gloss
    -Custom Speaker Vent Holes
    -Pommel TCSS Switch
-10" hilt (Without the Extra Emitter Length) with 26" Thick Trans-White Blade
-Amber Lux III LED with TCSS Heat-Sink and 5 Degree Lens
    -2010 Hasbro Sound Board
    -18500 Li-Ion Powered
    -Sled-Style Chassis

Wonderful "for kids" design. I'm loving the rounded pommel.

The grip parts remind me of shower curtain rings; can we call this one the Del Griffith?

She's going to love it. My son's birthday is today (day before Halloween, for anyone who needs that clarification), and while I didn't have time to make him one for his birthday, I hope to have one made by Christmas.

Did you paint the parts separately, or get it all glued and riveted together, and then apply paint?

Way to go dad! I hope lightsaber battles are the only ones you have. How are you keeping the speaker from hitting the switch in the pommel?

I painted it all separate, then drilled and screwed them all together after.

Actually, the speaker is lodged into the base of the hilt. I had to sand it a little to get it to fit just right, and then I added a little space for the switch wires. It fit really nicely, overall. Here are a couple shots:
