No, H.G. Wells wrote The Time Machine (and The War of the Worlds). Orson Welles was the guy that did the radio broadcast of The War of the Worlds. He was also the voice of Unicron in the animated Transformers movie.

[jk] Nope that was Herbert George Wells but yeah Orson did the original War Of The Worlds radio broadcast that panicked America in the 30s and he also made Citizen Kane widely regarded by critics as the greatest movie of all time though I was the only student in my film school who admitted to not liking it, sorry AFI...
