Default Please answer these n00b questions.

    1. Does a green Lux powered blade glow super bright like brighter than the other colors?

    2. Does the red not show up very well in normal light?

    3. Would it look weird to have a double bladed saber with the colors blue and red?

    4. Does anyone know where I can find RGB emitters or any materials I would need to make my saber's colors tunable? Even a changable color one would be fine.

    5. Is their any website or place where I can send in a hilt and have a sound board installed?

Thank you ahead of time. Feel free to post any pics and especially links.

These have great pics and even a few cool comments thrown in here and there.

I find it interesting that you would want to do a staff in two different colors but it can be done with no problems as most folks are making staffs so they can double as two independant sabers. Have fun browsing the boards and if you need any help with something that you can't find and search didn't work then fire away and we will see what we can do.

OH and don't forget to vist the welcome area and say hi and when ya just want to talk smack then feel free to visit here:

All 3 watt luxeon led sabers are bright, it is a matter of how the eye responds to colors green appears to be brighter because the eye responds better to green. You have to look at the pictures in the gallery section and decide for yourself what color you like best.

As for would it look wierd who really defines what is wierd???

There are a couple of sabers here that have been built using the RGB led to create a adjustable color saber or you can use the color filter disks that Tim sells right here
and a white led to change the color, again look through the gallery section

Send Tim a email about upgrading your saber to sound. He has just moved and is trying to get things back to normal here so be paitent, but he will get in touch with you.

The whole idea of this forum is to share ideas and examples of sabers not to tell each person what their saber has to look like[]

    1. As Do-Clo said all 3W Luxeons are bright, but certain colors our eyes respond to better. Green is one.

    2. As sort of a continuation... Red is one we are less sensative to, but at the same time due to the different types of diodes used (the reds and yellows vs. the blues and greens) the Reds and yellows can be driven a lot harder. For example a Red 3W maxes out at 190 lumens while the Green is only 80 lumens. In summary forget which is brighter and pick the color you like.

    3. The rest said it well, weird depends if you think it is.

    4. The main company for RGBs is Prolight... google it.

    5. Tim will do it... it's not as hard as you think though. Check out the tutorials to see if you think you can do it.
