Wink Snips by Nuclear Jedi Sabers

    Hello Saberites!!!

Yes, as you've probably guessed, it's an Ahsoka Tano variant...
I've always thought Ahsoka's saber was a bit lacking - those two black stripes down the side of the saber - why don't they light up?

So with that in mind, I decided to try and build an Ahsoka using EL wire to light up the sides. This is a padawan saber (albeit with the somewhat pricey and rare Acerocket pommel)... due to the size of the sink tube blade holder, this saber is a tad on the long side.. if I were to do it again, I probably would have moved the PLI more towards the pommel.. and maybe tried to better recess the EL wire.

    Specs:

    Lux3 Cyan
    1.25" sink tube
MHS to 1.25" sink tube adapter
    Acerocket Pommel
    Double Female adapter
    Double Male adapter
    2010 Hasbro Vader board
    PNP Transistor
    Premium sound
    4AAA batteries
1.5V EL inverter and aqua EL wire
    Power Level Indicator
    Powdercoated in Ultimate Chrome
Black accents via rustoleum black semi-gloss
Bunny ears (BTW, I have about 7+ feet of this stuff left if anyone else wants some!)

    Glams!

    Enjoy!

Very nice saber. The EL wire definitely adds to the look. Nice job.

If not a tiny bit too long (in my own small opinion) for the Ahsoka, I must say this is my favourite Ahsoka saber EVER!

    Great job!

I vote some variant of JB weld... good stuff man, like your inventive use of EL.

Wow, thanks for all the comments guys!

As for the length, it's just under 13.5 inches
Yeah I know... I totally agree - this one turned out a bit long for an Ahsoka... <sigh>...oh well.

I think if I didn't have the EL wire and if I maybe cut off one or two of the heat sink "fins" on the 1.25" bladeholder, it could be made a bit shorter.

Shadar, you're right - it's JB weld. The lucky thing is that the JB color actually blends in quite nicely with the ultimate chrome PC.

Oh and just FYI - the hasbro board is getting 4.5V (3AAA) and the EL is getting the 4th AAA.

Cool Ahsoka variant. I like the EL lighting.

I like the whole thing. The EL wire. The balanced look to it. The length doesn't look bad ether. Great saber. It looks comfy to hold too.
