Thread: Birthday gift

    Default Birthday gift

This saber was a gift for my cousin on his 12th birthday. He said: “Given the size I’m betting it’s a light saber… my friend has an FX which is about this size and HOLY (expletive deleted)!!!” His parents couldn’t complain, because his usage was correct and they were laughing too hard.

His father says he didn’t put it down for hours…

    Here’s the specs:

Red-orange Lux III (orange is his favorite color)
    Orange momentary illuminated AV switch
Hasbro Obi-Wan 2010 ‘electronic lightsaber’ board
    TCSS speaker and V2 mount
    3.7v Li-ion battery (TrustFire protected 18650) w/ charger
    Recharge port in pommel
All MHS parts; solar flat black powder coating and Box4 holes by Tim
    38” Corbin-style battle blade w/ double wrap

It is the second saber I’ve built, and added in some new elements (for me) which presented some unexpected challenges.

And I betting his friend used the exact same language when he saw that saber.

    Good job dude.
Obi-Wan: "If you spent as much time practicing your saber techniques as you did your wit, you'd rival Master Yoda as a swordsman"

    Anakin: " I thought I already did"

Obi-Wan: "Only in your mind, my very young apprentice"

Thanks to everyone for their comments. He loves it - he is either carrying it around or it's standing up in the corner of his room in the only clean spot (he is 12, after all). His little sister keeps "borrowing" it, so I think I've got another build coming...
