This is an Exar Kun hilt... but it's not the iconicly famous, clawed, double-bladed shorty that everyone generally associates with the notorious Sith Lord. Actually, this one is his Jedi Hilt.
One of the double edged swords of the Tales of the Jedi comic series, was that there was hardly ANY consistancy in the lightsaber hilt designs... outside of long, skinny, and really busy-looking. So there are plenty of very cool hilt designs, but nothing to specifically and difinitively say: "This is the design of so-and-so's hilt". Pickapicture-anypicture...
So I picked this one.
I've always liked the idea of the no-nonsense leg holster - or in this case - leg lightsaber clamp, and this one picture was a great example. It was also, coincidentally, a very clear and defined lightsaber design... a lot of the other designs in that book look like tree branches with drippy blue light coming out of them... which is still cool, just not practical.
I want to make the leg holster too, just to have a nice display piece... but that's still a work in progress.
