    Default 1977 tribute saber

    Hi everyone,

Here's my second custom lightsaber. I wanted a simple design that reminds the space art from the sci-fi of the 70's, especially the fabulous McQuarrie's designs. This sober white and silver mix is a humble tribute to its genious. Hope you like it

    Specs

    -Rebel Royal Blue LED
    5º Degree Lens
    Quick-Connect System

    -MR Anakin board

    -Recharge port
    Custom soldered 4AAA battery

    -Custom switch box (not mine)

-MHS parts plus 1.1/2 sink tube for overlay
    (beneath red and silver screw)

    _Inner chassis.

    -White paint + epoxy layer.

You're right. The McQuarrie's stormtrooper lightsaber design was an inspiration.

    Thx

    Nice saber!
The pieces and colour scheme all fit well together. Very pleasing to the eye.

The dark hardwood background and lighting make the pictures look sort of like outer space.

I also like the simplicity of the small overlay with the screws. One question on that actually, does the metal retain it's shape, or are the edges lifting away form the saber a bit? (It sort of looks that way in pictures - may just be lighting)

Actually, the screws don't retain the shape. I've soldered it, but yes, there is a very slightly lift on one corner. Maybe when cutting the sink tube

    Nice saber. I like it.

You should put the 8.7 degree lens & holder in it. The blade will look way better.

Thanks for the tip Sunrider. Actually, I've seen this 8.7º lens everywhere recently, and started to consider the reason why.
