Default I need some electrical help please!

OK sabersmiths I need some help with electronics on my newest saber.

With out giving away 2 much, Im going to be running a royal blue lux1 and I also am going to need power to run a normal 5mm led.

Question is do I need to go with a 4 AAA battery pack or will 2 AAA be sufficient to power both.

Ooh, Ooh...I know. A PVC saber?

No, 2 aaa would not be enough.

If you're new, please take the time we all consider just as precious as you and READ!

Ummm.... A PVC Starkiller? The adjustable driver at the shop works great set to 1200ma for rebels.

Well, I don't know about Royal Blue, but I have a regular Blue Lux I - Star O LED and I believe the forward voltage on it is close to 3V. As such, it works fine of 2 alkaline AAA batteries and a micropuck designed for Lux I LEDs. Pretty dim though compared to a Lux III.

However, I used to run it off of 4 AAA alkaline batteries with no puck and no resistor (shame on me I know) all the time... because I didn't know any better at the time. It still works fine and is as bright as a Lux III when overdriven that way, lol (not that I condone overdriving them as badness could happen).

From Wikipedia: "Internet Explorer slows down GIFs if the framerate is 20 frames per second or higher and Microsoft reports that Google Chrome and Safari also slow down some GIF animations."

I have a wiring question. I am gutting a 9 LED 3 AAA flashlight for the internals it is a pushbutton end cap model and plan on hot soldering the LED cap to the wire. Now, my question, can I run this on an 8 AAA pack with a pair of dummies in it or am I going to need more gear? And BTW this LED pack is about 40 lumens and has an illuminating range of about 40 feet or so.

I spoke with an electrical guru and have determined that this is far too much work for the possible return. So I have elected to pick up a White P4 to throw in the body. The chart shows a 240 lumen output from the LED. I will be using this setup as a sleek looking flashlight as well as a saber so I needed the extra output.
