My First Saber

I just ordered the parts for my first saber last night. I wanted to do something simple for my first build. I may add a sink-tube overlay, later.

Rebel 8.7 Degree Lens
Rebel Lens Holder
Rebel Shim
Thermal Compound
4xAAA Battery Holder
Red Guarded Latching Switch
1000mA 4-Wire Buckpuck
Quick Connect Wire-System

The blade:

40" 1"OD Thick Wall Trans White Polycarbonate Tube
Bullet Tip w/ Reflective Disk

I may shorten up the blade, itself, later.

your covertec wheel is "upside down", but otherwise, it looks good.

All the time!

Unless you're 7' tall, you'll probably want to shorten that blade, or you will likely hit the ground with it when you're spinning it. There are all kinds of ways to determine the "proper" length for a blade, but I just suggest you wait until you get it, and cut off a couple of inches at a time until it "feels right".

I'm well over 6', so hopefully I won't need to modify it much. I have a feeling that the light will disperse too much by the time it reaches the end of the blade, though.
