Thread: Sanding a transwhite blade.

  1. #1

    Default Sanding a transwhite blade.

Quick question I have sanded all the blades I have recieved from Tim (it just looks really nice when done right). Well I just ordered one of his transwhite blades. I wanted to give it a shot. What I wanted to know is has anybody sanded one of these blades? Would it be worth it?

I have a 3/4" blade with Corbin-style film, polywrap and sanded at 600grit

I also have a 3/4" blade in the trans-white that has no alterations.

If I had to pick between the two, I'd say the trans-white is more even, and the tip isn't as dark.

As such, I don't know how much better you'd get with any further sanding of the trans-white.

Take some 1500 grit to it. It will get rid of the glare from ambient lighting. Helps the blade look better in areas that aren't totally dark.

I plan to try this with trans blades myself. They look great in brighter lighting situations except the shiny tube reflects other light sources.

I did this with Parvus Laetitia. It turned out awesome, it is the most even blade that I own.
