Remember that acrylic is brittle. That is why I told you what blade I used in my Cane saber. It's owner still uses it on a daily basis.

Actually LDM i went back to the site he bough the original cane that i made the blade from and its not acrylic its actually Lucite which chemically is PMMA .

Check out E.W. Barton-Wright's Self-Defence with a Walking-Stick (published in 1901) and Andrew Chase Cunningham's The Cane as a Weapon (published in 1912). Then there's the French martial art known as Canne de combat. I've been intrigued by this sort of thing since I starting using a cane, but in my case, even a clumsy whack on the head with the German silver handle of my ebony cane would do plenty of damage.
There's always a bigger fish.
