the whole saber is flat black, except for the sink tube piece over the emitter, extension piece. No chrome on the handle??

This saber just screams Sith, I love it. I agree with Sloda on the grip. Here's my thought. You could use the red o rings sold at the shop and black nylon cord. I picked up my nylon cord from Gander Mountain, an outdoors store, or you can most likely find it at an army navy store. They would know it as parachute cord or 550 cord. Anyway here is a quick rough sketch of how I think the grip could look. Two red o rings some wrap followed by two red o rings and so on. Just an idea.
