Obi-Wan ANH "AFFB" by Caine and LDM

Not many of these out there, and I decided to make use of the (now somewhat new) v-grooved grenade/choke combo the way it was intended.

Hilt By Caine

-Krylon gloss black with baked epoxy clearcoat
-TO-05 and TO-99 Transistors (accurate prop size according to research from the RPF)

Install by LDM (because my Cram-Fu needs practice. Thanks LDM! )

-Lux III Bin 1 Cyan (It's a blue Rebel in the pics, but I felt the Cyan was a much better fit for this build)
-MR FX Luke ANH sound
3.7 Li-Ion Battery Solution with recharge/kill in the pommel
Lighthound PCB
Bubble strip activation

No, no, it's "As First Filched By." It is a little known fact that Obi-wan was a kleptomaniac, and that this saber was originally constructed by Kit Fisto. There was some animosity on this subject, but the whole Jedi serenity thing kind of makes it hard to tell.

The D-ring is attached to the pommel.
Ans YES, it should be "AFBB"....darn type-o!

I can't remember if I did the vid with an Ultra blade or a VV dual diffused one. Whatever the case, that bin 1 cyan looks tight on this build.

@Skottsaber: I have had this build in mind for a long time, before Slothfurnace. I was just waiting for the accurate v-grooved grenade/choke combo. But Slothfurnace DOES inspire, that's for sure!

This saber has been updated.



The blue LED that was the crystal pommel ended up failing (either the USPS when they shipped it or the LED itself just failed)...I replaced it with an aqua LED...much brighter and matches the main blade color as well.

Rumble motor installed (mounted in the clamp - thanks to cannibal869 for that idea.)

Overall, I am pretty happy with it. I MAY install a different board in it, and if I do it would be a TCSS board when they are released. Or I may just keep as is.

Looks much better IMO. I snagged several of those bin1s myself...I love that colour!

I'm really surprised you only have two sabers...I thought there would be a few more. I know you have one of LDM's V1s as well. You've made a lot of upgrades and changes to your sabers and I don't blame you at all. It's so worth it to have it just right.

Haha, yeah...only two...I don't like to own too many because I want to make sure they all get adequate usage....so my two now are...the C.F. Luke V2 and this one. The V3 was gutted, and is awaiting the new TCSS board (I decided to boycott all things Ultrasound, which was in the V3)...and the other 2 were sold/parted out to fund the below mentioned project.

But don't worry CC, another C.F. saber is near completion (An Obi ANH actually ) and another saber is being picked up later this month at LDM's. That one is going to be another fat win!


MINOR UPDATE ON 8/17

Removed the motor (got annoying)

Added a blue blinky under the bubble strip.

LOVE this saber even more now.

I think my love affair with motors are over. They officially bug me now....LDM, don't say a thing! Haha.
