None of the real 'big shots' of the hobby (LDM, Fender, Do Clo, etc) entered. These were all built by people who have made less than 10 sabers for the most part. I am really impressed with the entries!
Oh, and I bet that not a single person would guess #8's builder

I didn't vote for my own either.
Its kinda sad we didnt vote for our own stuff.
Though it would make a interesting physiologically study about on e not wanting to truly succeed and self fulfilling prophecies lol

I'm amazed by these sabers...the one thing that struck me is how many seemed to follow a 'steampunk'/victoriana/mechanical aesthetic rather than either an OT or PT aesthetic.
This indicates that there is plenty of 'outside the box' creativity in this hobby imo.

As for me, the one I submitted wasn't the one I wanted to submit. I've been working on a killer saber for a while now, but I simply didn't have enough time to finish it. I had this other saber that was closer to being done, so I finished it and put it in. I honestly felt that there were better sabers than mine, so I voted for one of them.
