Thread: Voltage

Does anyone know the ac current that the Master Replica chips run on the old 6AA battery EL blade lightsabers? Im wondering If I can use the wasted current for saber bling. Im converting a 2004 luke ROTJ to luxeon.

Yup, except for the EL sabers they all used 4.5V... they just ran them in parallel for better runtimes I guess.

Im talking bout the voltage I keep getting electrocuted on when im not paying attention. I had a buddy of mine snap the blade in half a while back and the EL paper got damaged so I just tore it all out and left the two wires sticking out. I read somewhere on here that the current is converted from dc to ac for the EL blade. Im assuming that the power just deadends when you pull the plug out of the chip....?

Whoo... that's quite the thing to pull the blade apart and expose wires. Spaced on what you meant though... 6AA = 9V. You are going to have to do plenty though to make that work with a Luxeon III. It's too high and you'll have to resistor it before it gets to the inverter...

Take a multi meter and test on ac for you rating. You could get some neat EL bling with that inverter or you could do a cool EL conversion in the sense that you could get Tim to machine a holder for the hilt add a jack and make a blade and wham!

The buzz you are getting is not as bad as a phone line when a call comes in, that will make you fuss.
