    Default Blade retention

Hi im probably being a noob right now but whatever i just want to know what i should cut my blade retention hole with. I dont have a Drill press and no one i know owns one thats "working" so yea Please help me with this this is a pic of my saber, i also want to know were the best place to drill the hole is.

Should it b on the blade holder or the thing sticking out of that? im guessing the holder but i dont want to make any mistake. Im actually wanting to battle with this and have it up for show.
This conversion was quite the fun one I wish to do more!

I used to use a hand held drill before I got a drill press. and then jut tap it like you normally would. you have to be very careful though...

I would put the hole in the dead center of the main BH section....

Hee hee. I resisted the urge to comment on that when I saw it.

Drill it exactly where it recommends to in the tutorial. Just use a hand drill and hold it VERY steady. I recommend using a punch to make a dimple on the surface of the hilt and then using a tiny drill bit to make a pilot hole. From there go to the #29 bit for 8-32 threading.

Never use a tap in a drill!!! Use the "T" handle and twist it slowly.

Here's an excellent tutorial by Lord Maul, you should read it thoroughly even if you don't have access to a drill press.:

lol, listen to Ingchao. Drills + taps are not a good thing. I recommend reading all the stickied tutorials that are on the boards as well as perusing the Thread Index. Most (if not all) of your saberbuilding questions will be answered
