    Maybe we should base our ideas along the same lines as CPU's and GPU's?

    yeah but who wants a fan in their saber? and also 20 watts!!! if you think 3w is bright now in the dark think about 17 more watts added, thats incredible!

    Exactly my thoughts. If a sealed container could be found water cooling might not be too crazy. Use a peltier to cool the water while it's not on...

    Countdown, a fan isn't that bad of an idea for people that like motors in their sabers. It's the size that's been an obstacle.

    yeah but thats just my preference i dont want a fan in my saber, where are you gonna mount it?

    either way,

    brighter sabers = a good thing. i say bring it on!

    besides, i'm sure Corbin is well on the way to a heatsinking solution. from what i've heard Tim and Ultra have their hands on those 20-watt suckers now too. 700 m f'n Lumens? YES!

    There's 10 watt flashlight torches that I found. Maybe you could convert the flashlight or salvage the led from that. I can't find 20 watt that run on DC currents. All the ones I found are like halogen bulbs or something. I believe those run on AC currents.

    Most ones in flashlights are crippled by how they are put in there and are horribly under driven. It's a possiblity though...
