Thread: Lee filters Info and Q & A.

Default Lee filters Info and Q & A.

This thread is for the discussion and Q & A over the free Numeric edition Lee filters color swatch book. Let me provide some information first.

Note. The saber in these pictures uses a 1 watt led, so most other sabers will be brighter.

The hilt, the swatch book, and my 3 favorite filters.

And the white for comparison and to show transmission rates.

This picture shows the names and numbers of the three sample colors. They are the best yellow, purple and green i could find. This picture also shows the style the swatches are arranged in.

These are some other swatches that come in the book. This should provide you with tip material and a base reflective strip.

www.leefilters.com is the website. If you want the book,(not trying to take away business, but this is the general LED forum) e-mail lee filters and request a "Numeric edition color filter swatch book" along with your shipping address and a valid reason for needing the book. I wouldn't advise saying you build lightsabers. Tell them something proffesional sounding and send the e-mail. The swatch book should show up in the mail in about 4 days. You will not have to pay anything, not even S&H.

For those who have the books, please share any other good swatches you have found and try to include pictures. Any questions go here and any general info or discussion goes here as well.

Will there be a responce e-mail? I e-mailed last night and I'm not sure from your wording if there'd be a confirmation e-mail.

From the pics it seems that they are less saturated with white compared to the ones Tim offers. Tim's are mighty convenient but some colors like the red disk are quite lacking.

I will post when I get mine.

WEll the facts that they are free, and there are 800 of them really help. And they give very rich colors. They are also easy to work with and since every color has a unique name and number, it is eas to share info and opinions. And each color has enough material to make about 6 squares to use.

Wow 800! Sweet. Reason enough right there.

Now to come up with my psuedo profession to order em..hmm, what's a good one? A custom optics maker sounds good.

    Thanks for links steve.

They are definately worth it. I'm going out tonight to buy a 3W flashlight to steal the white LED lol I can't wait anymore.

Hehe, i have a 1 watt lux flashlight that i test the filters with before i cut them out and stick them in my saber. But the way my flashlight is buily prevents me from stealing the LED.
