    Somewhat on topic: Silver Nitrate doesn't stain... It burns. The "weird black marks" left if you get it on your skin are burns. They're generall harmless unless you get a lot of it over a large part of your body. Example: a while back, a reporter wanted to see what black people were going through (back when seggregation was around), so he covered his whole body with silver nitrate. Caused some nasty skin cancer later on in life.

    And that's your useless tidbit of knowledge for the day. []

    I don't disagree that the media can be dawgs but I believe that archammer was relaying a story of a fellow who did this back in the 50's and of course that means they most likely didn't know the problems with doing what they did.
