Thread: MHS saber

  1. #1

    Default MHS saber

    I probably should have done this before ordering. But i used the http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com...ead.php?t=6430 basic MHS noob thread. and have chosen these configurations.
    * 1 of: 1/8" Adhesive lined heatshrink tubing
    * 1 of: 8-32 x 1/2" thumb screw
    * 1 of: Screw on LED blade holder style 18
    * 1 of: Hilt style 3 with guarded style switch hole
    * 1 of: MPS Insert style 6
    * 1 of: 2 Wire quick connector
    * 1 of: MPS Pommel style 7
    * 1 of: Build Your Own Seoul P4 Electronics Kit
    * 1 of: LED "Corbin style" Show blade 1" OD (36 inches)
    * 1 of: MHS ribbed extension
    * 1 of: Powder Coating (Super Wet Black, RIB3)

    Im a wee worried that the blade holder is either 1" or 3/4" which means the blade wont fit.
    Tim would have told me if they werent appropriate wouldnt he?

    All good?

    All BHs are 1", the difference between led and el holders is ones got a heatsink and the other has a washer of sorts for the mono jack.

    Why are you getting a hilt with a guarded switch hole and no guarded switch on your parts list?

    Well, considering that the guarded switch hole is for the guarded switch, what do you think?

    Huh?

    P4 button? What are you talking about? A P4 that's in the shop is an LED.

    The guarded switch goes into the hole in the hilt from the outside, then you have to tighten the nut that's on the inside of the hilt.

    The "standard" switches are easier, especially for new people. The switch goes on the inside of the hilt and you push the button and stem through the hole and the nut secures on the outside.

    The Seoul P4 doesnt come with a button you have to order your switches separately. The only thing the Seoul P4 comes with is the LED and the PCB star its soldered to. I just got mine in the mail yesterday

    the P4 is an LED. that is a "light emitting diode" and comes pre-mounted on a star. (Think tiny lightbulb mounted on a metal star.) They do not typically come with any kind of Button, either the type you sew onto your clothes or the kind that you push also called a switch....
