Tie a string to the end and pull it through.. unless you've already got the tip glued in
Well I'm rewiring some thing and ordering some more strips. I was sent the wrong ones this time so I've got to wait a bit before I give it another go. We'll see.
I'm having a high pitched whine coming from my speaker (neopixel build) when using certain colors (high power I believe). Has anyone had this problem? If so, is it a ground loop? Any easy fix or am I...
Is there any reason why my strips would only work with a low battery charge?
Yea it's possible it's still a wiring issue. I'll probably do a little rewiring here in a bit.
The tcss protected 10 amp 3200 mah
So I recently had time to get to building these things. Anyway, first go around a capicitor wasn't needed on my neopixel blade. Now something odd is happening. Using a tcss neopixel adapter, 24 awg...
I think I found the issue actually. I think when I originally stripped the data wire, I might have pulled a couple of strands short. My son accidentally yanked it and bam.. 3 almost too small to see...
So good. Well done
Well alright. So on the adafruit neopixel troubleshooting page it says that the power line has to be at most 1.43x the data line or at least .7x. I am using shorter strips here (currently 105 each...
Well I was going to buy some eventually anyway so ...here we go
I'm using the 3200 mah 10 amp from tcss. The smallest wiring I'm using is 24 gauge (20 down the line and to the battery) which is attached to the strips and board.
I'm using a 470 ohm resistor and...
Oh and one other strange thing is during extension and retraction things get a little weird. This took me a long time to notice but take this example. If I use a complete magenta, the red will be...
Yea my battery was definitely fully charged. I didn't really notice it right off the bat. But then once the charm wore off a bit and I fully charged the battery, I started noticing on some colors....
Hmm. So do you have other strips working fine?
So I'm not sure here, but it seems the prizm manual could mention this on page 37. I'm just not sure about the wording. With a few colors, especially yellow, I'm pretty sure some of the LEDs are...
That's so cool. This is all so new to me still. I can't wait to have to the time (and money) to put together a real piece like that.
I just want to say how amazing the tcss diffusion insert is for neopixel blades. I just got two in the mail today and it makes every type of plastic (clear, photon, and trans-white) look fantastic....
Hmm, I wonder what caused me to get the rainbow colors. It seemed like some sort of test pattern. Only happened once when I was seeing how long my almost dead battery would stay on.
To elaborate making sure your battery can push the whole 10 amps (minimum) is important. Tcss sells a 10 amp protected 3200 mah that's worked for me so far. Although my strips are somewhat shorter...
Alright well either your battery isn't cutting it (you've gone past the rattling speaker stage) or you just need the capacitor that's mentioned in the manual.
And of course what kind of battery are you using?
Okay so really make sure you're battery is charged first. But also in that second pic it's hard to see your joints. However i just can't remember what caused those colors for me the first time. I'm...
Now that color scheme looks familiar. I used prizm for neopixel, but if I remember correctly, I got those colors when my battery was almost completely dead. Is it rebooting on you over and over?
Oh and make sure the data line isn't looping up next to or around the power lines
