Gorgeous etching!
Thank you all for all the kind words.
And thanks to ARKM for your salt water etching tutorial, that and a few youtube videos got me started with etched sabers, and I still refer back to it to...
“Whoso pulleth out this sword from this stone, is right wise King born of all England.”
Ok, lightsabers will cut through pretty much anything and everything, so they wouldn't really get stuck in...
Hello out there in saberlandia.
I thought I'd share my latest saber with you. I call it The Blue Max because well, it's blue! It also has lots of blue like the 16mm anti vandal and the blade led....
Those are some sweet looking and awesome sounding blasters. The speaker placement is brilliant!!
Beautifully done. Love the theme, love the etching, love the 'mirror' paint jobs. I'm sure they are the envy of all their geek and non-geek friends now, lol.
Btw, I've always used flickr for my...
Only time I ever had weird indicator lights like that was when one of my batteries got fubar. Better check the battery to see how long holds a charge. Mine went from holding for about 45 minutes to 5...
Amazing etching and love the theme!
This is a story about a very good friend of mine, who is about a close to being a geek as a blue whale is to being able to fly through outer space. When we met I was in the middle of building my very...
Love all the copper and brass in this one, must be one heavy hilt. Gorgeous!
OMG Thank you for saying that. As a machinist of going on 40 years ( yeah, I'm an old fart ) I absolutely cringe whenever I hear or see someone saying they are "lathing" a part instead of turning a...
Cool, thanks!
I had a question about blade holder 16. I've seen photos somewhere of a groove cut into the inner part of the blade holder so that light will transmit to the holes drilled in the face of the holder....
Really like that crazy damaged etching and weathering! And that LED gives it the look we relate to nuclear reaction. Nice work!
Very interesting video, thanks for sharing.
$7,500 for something that doesn't even move under its own power, and runs on AA batteries? That's insane.
Plan on spending at least three grand for a basic styrene R2 with sound and radio control. Some of the more elaborate all aluminum builds cost over $15k and a few over $20k! Way more expensive than...
Thanks Rob, cleared up a few questions I had.
Nice one! Beautiful weathering and awesome etching!
Gorgeous saber all the way around. Beautiful etching work, very clever idea with the magnets!
Better late to the party than never showing up. You built a fine looking saber, you should be proud.
Loving all this copper, like that's a surpirse. That rainbow patina is really cool!! I'm willing to bet that the copper blade holder will act like a giant heat sink after extended run time. I know my...
Love the etching!
Nice design, really like the texture you got in the paint.
Interesting looking grip material.
