I've read that the soundboard is wired up differently and it you just pull it out like an MR saber that it pulls out wires? Also the LED blade is soldered to the board rather than being plugged in...

I've searched the forum but can't find a tutorial for disassembling a black series Vader saber. Is there a tutorial about or is it the same as the hasbro one?

got it done now thanks, with some help from the fx saber forum :)

basically just had to whack the ring to break the glue, then it came off easy with a strap wrench
