Sounds like the sound board is getting partial current, either because the recharge port switch isn't fully disengaging, or some part of the wire or solder is making a connection inside the hilt -...
What is it about two trans white tubes that makes it brighter? Just less direct transparency?
You know, that is something I really like about this forum - it stays true to the Custom Saber Shop theme, and is focused on the building and creating process. It isn't just a handful of builders...
Ok, the rebuild is complete.
I used all new materials, and upgraded the soundcard and emitter - this one uses a Spark board and a Z6 LED, which is rather bright, even in daylight. I added a crystal...
Thank you Master Jedi
Hi Everyone,
This is a polarity question which I wouldn't ask if I was more of a gambler with components, but I'd rather not leave something like this up to a 'test'.
I have two Li-ion...
I was just tearing apart an econo saber for the sound card and parts, and kind of stumbled upon some useful salvage I would otherwise have thrown a way. The battery chamber from this Vader hilt makes...
Very nice form! The amber is lovely, I wish I could see more detail of the crystal chamber.
Welcome! I'm new too, jumped in to build first saber, and did exactly as described above. 'Working as you go' is fun, but there's shipping each time, and worse yet, multiple WAITING. If you don't...
Welcome :)
That is quite amazing.. I'm not sure if this would help with the heat buildup, but have you considered a convex mirror at the end of the tube, to fan out the light instead of a direct reflect?
That looks insanely bright. Is it strong enough in normal daylight to not see the plastic/color of the blade tube?
Thank you. I used a white Rebel Star, and added one light purple color disk. The color is easier to see on a non-black background, but some of it shows up in the glow. If that was a TriLED, i'd add...
Thanks :)
Just finished my first custom lightsaber. This is my concept of the kind of saber a Sith Sorcerer might have wielded. I went with the idea that ancient Sith alchemy would have been powerful, and...
Awesome, thank you! Might have some pics this weekend, its near done..
I just wanted to get another set of eyes on my current wiring - I'm using an Ultimate FX sound board, with a single Rebel Star LED and a 3.7 Li Ion battery. Everything is working just fine, light up...

Thoughts?
I would definitely save them. I'm new too, but I've been thoroughly warned that your first saber(s) won't be your last. The first of many in most cases. I've already found this to be true, planning...
This is part of an Oculus Rift demo, featuring 3D lightsaber training. Hard to tell what this is actually like from a 2-D video, but I can't imagine it wouldn't be fun. Looking forward to this...
and for ever... will it dominate our destinies
It gets that bad huh? Thanks for the warning :)
Just posting an intro, though I've read quite a bit here so far. I'm in the Seattle area, go to various conventions, cosplay, roleplay, etc. as many folks here do :)
I just wanted to say thanks to...
