Sadly I Havnt made much progress on this saber lately - life! Soon... Soon I hope.
Very cool stand, too!
Callandor:

So, I decided not to use the Vader-esk PVC hilt I had laying around - I decided to start from scratch and my new hilt may be familiar to, well, all of you. Its similar to Ahsoka's saber but I haven't...
Do you have any experience getting a buck puck to work with a single cell? Pucks require at least 7.4v to operate, I'm told.
Sorry for the post delays, there have been build delays! I'm determined to find the resistor I need locally. Though, I could use some of those claw mounts for my initiate staff saber, and then I...
Hey that worbla stuff is pretty cool, how rigid is it? Anyone know?
GMTA Tryp... i'm going to borrow the claws from my portal gun render. Those "claws" were the easiest and hardest part of this render... the little spring actuator thingies were hard to get right.

I hear ya. I like the first one better too, i'm still toying with the proportions but I think a final product would look closer to this last drawing than the first. The hilt above is MHS scale so I...
Another lunch-time render - I think the proportions are a bit more accurate.
UPDATE! The original mobile upload of this drawing was awful, the photobucket app compressed it to death. Here is a...
It's proof of concept for sure but I don't know if the shrouds would be as distinct - that is an MHS emitter 1:1 scale, you might recognize it - so the scale of this render, the white covers that is,...
I thought about this a year or so ago when I started getting into custom sabers - I just hadn't made the time to put a render/sketch together. Well, I put together a scale render of the portal gun in...
Are you thinking the 3.7 cell won't be sufficient in a resistor settup? It's pushing it and the battery life may not be great but...
Thanks, Ty! I don't feel like buying a battery, $ cost for shipping.... Waiting....... Think I'll just use a resistor - ill just need to keep it charged for max glow!
Ahh nuts. I can pick up a resistor I just like the more consistent brightness of the buckpuck. The battery was mailed to me by mistake with my last build so thought I would use it up. A lot if the...
Awesome, thanks! I thinking of putting the switch in pommel. I woke up thinking about a few different hilt designs so I may start from scratch rather than use the above hilt. It's not good painting...
So, coming off the high that was my first build, Callandor, I thought I would return to the craft that got me hooked in the first place. That is, PVC. I had a few extra parts left over from the...
Thanks, Yin! It's my pride and joy and I don't feel it's too shabby for my first go at it. There were many times I thought I bit off more than I could chew. If anyone looks under the hilt, they would...
Wow! I love LDM sabers!
And like that, it's over. What do I do with my time now? My wallet is all but empty... Maybe I'll wire up a few of my first PVC sabers...
Thanks!
I probably could with a bit of finesse. There may be just enough wire to back the chassis out from pommel side but I would have to disassemble the chassis in hilt. Tricky enough that, I really am OK...
Thanks - they have this video on saberfont.com, too. But, that was my fear - there is a critical flaw in my saber design, and that is, the SD card is inaccessible when fully assembled and wired up....
And here you go, video proof!
UPDATE: The audio is missing. It worked fine before. Sadly the YouTube vid was my only copy. Look with your eyes, not with your ears?
