Hey, it's been a while since I last posted in the forums. I have previously built a fairly basic MHS stunt saber with the intention of someday adding sound, and now I am looking into what i need to...

looks like a nice set of swords, kind of reminds me of the type of sword used by Arwen in the Lord of the Rings. I don't think you'd be able to alter the hilts though...the design of the blade...
I would normaly agree, but I just got my first hilt assembled and it is 14 inches, and I thought it would be too long, until I got the 36 inch blade attached and it is really balanced well, plus more...
Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to check them when I wire everything up.
Hey Rosedale...I'm also new to this but have had a blast reading the posts in here and learning how to build my first saber. I have to ask...is "Rosedale" the same as "northwest side of Bakersfield"?
I definitely like the powder coating, it will be a nice saber when you get it done. I also agree with Darth Xusia about the set screw...I just got my first hilt finished and I went with a flush set...
Well the blade showed up yesterday courtesy of UPS. It is an UltraEdge so it needed some mild sanding to make it fit the bladeholder, but I got that done. Inserted the blade, tightened down the set...

I agree 100%...this is definitely the best advice that anyone can give on this site...if you read enough and do your homework, you will find the answers to what you are looking for, usually without...
I'm also fond of my first design, but I opted for a longer saber to make sure I had room for all of my electronics. I will be running a 4AA battery pack and eventually a MR Windu soundboard +speaker...
Ok, sounds good to me. As soon as I can find someone with a 1000 mA puck in stock, I'll order one.
I actually ordered 2 different LED's with an extra heat sink to make 2 LED assemblies with quick disconnects (to be able to change colors). I got a Lux Rebel green (700 mA) and a P4 red (800 mA), so...
I would agree with you...I also like the Rahm Kota idea better, but I decided to go with a saber design that would still look good if I could not pull off the Tsukamaki grip. In any case, I had...
Just a note...I wanted to show you where I got my info from about how to choose a puck, and why I picked the 700 mA. This is a quote directly from the tutorial section labeled "I have decided to make...
Well I can definitely understand. I may be a newbie when it comes to building sabers, but I do know how this kind of thing works...I mostly work on cars (been doing that for over 20 years) so can...
Don't worry, you didn't hurt my feelings. I started a new thread over here because I figured it would get a faster response because this section is more specific to the questions I had (and I was...
well I apologize if I misunderstood your intent, but the term "bad choice" definitely qualifies as "negative", especialy if it is the first thing that you type. The way you phrased your reply told me...
Ok, that makes sense...I actually have read alot of posts about overdriving, just thought it would be a good idea to not go there on my first saber. I just thought it was odd that I was told that my...
Ok, first yes I did search the forums for the info I needed and I ended up with two opposing answers. I am building my first MHS saber and posted my parts list in the appropriate category for some of...
well most of the information I was able to find in the forums indicated that you were supposed to try to match the mA of the driver as closely as possible to the target mA of the LED. Info like that...
Ok, ordered parts today...I'll post pics of the build in the MHS section...thanks for the advice everyone. I did make one other modification to my list...ordered a 700 mA buckpuck instead of the 1000...

Thanks for the advice...I'll upgrade to a 4AA holder since I now know it will fit. I guess I was just hedging a bit for space with the 4AAA unit.
