Rebooting does sound a lot like its tripping the battery protection circuit trying to pull more amperage than it can spit out.
Only way to eliminate that variable is replacing the battery....

Does it reboot constantly if you just start it up with the blade already inserted? If so it might be a sign of either uncharged battery or said battery being insufficient.

    I'd just be rewiring all...

So, got some 5050 strips from BTF Lighting on ebay.
They're far nicer quality than the previous yucko ones and don't seem to suffer from any weird colour reproduction issues. These will very likely...

Perhaps we should start a list of known-to-not-be-crap strip sellers? Maybe I'll add it to that basics thread I'm working on.

  10. Proposal for a pinned Neopixel basics and help thread

Thought it might be more efficient to have a general thread that answers a lot of the questions we've seen popping up RE: pixels lately.

There are 18650's with 15a discharge(which is the important part for having a functional blade), though they do tend to have a lesser capacity than the 3500mah 10a cells.

Plecter's NB4 and Prizm5.1, along with a couple of Naigon boards are the current pixel compatible options. There's also the open source route.
