thats the sort of thing i was going for... so it was one or the other, not both at once...
i was going to use a momentary SPDT switch rather than latching, i only used a picture of latching in...
i did think about doing it that way, but wanted to trim down to only one switch if i could...
thanks for pointing out my mistake on the recharge port though :D
think i've figured it...
pictured a latching switch, but will obviously be a momentary SPDT switch when i wire it properly...

that make sense, or am i...
sweet... loving how this is coming together :D
if you're doing it that way, i'd test on a spare switch first... dot of glue on switch AND on the metal piece you're gluing, leave the glue to set for a few minutes until it's more jelly than liquid,...
thats going to be a tricky one built into the actual thread area... i'll be interested to see what you come up with there as well
yup, tall switches are the way to go if you're decorating them...

easy to find on ebay or amazon in packs of 10 in case you mess up... always good to have...
be careful gluing... tactile switches can be tricky things, if even a small amount of glue gets down inside the switch, it's going to screw it up :(
hey guys, wonder if you can help me here... has anyone used an spdt switch in a double sided saber build before?
I had an idea for a build and just trying to work out the logistics of it and my...
grab some white spirit and give it a rubdown first... could just be spots of grease or dust on the metal causing problems :)
ohh very nice... subtle, but with almost a hint of 'royal' feeling to it... kinda saber i could imagine a prince jedi wielding
it happens sometimes... did you give the tube a proper cleandown before doing anything? sometimes some grease or dust or whatever can get under the PNP and cause problems with it adhering
nicely done... looks like you've got some trouble with your resist there though...
might be worth grabbing some lumocolor pens... the permanent ones, you can get them at most stationary stores and...
that makes sense... i've just been using my charger without plugging it in for that as i 'hid' my charging / key port, inside the pommel lol
nice design :D
would a NB2 actually require a kill key? it's got the deep sleep mode... i've used the NB2 for a while now without a kill key at events, and just tapping the power button to bring it out of deep...
i did contemplate a 'hook hinge' system a while back, but never actually got around to implementing it.
the theory was the same as a d-ring system really, but with more structure to eliminate...
lightsaber that doubles as a mace? lmao
i kid... love it... it's a Chewie sized saber :D
damn thats a thing of beauty :o
for blade length, i typically measure from elbow to floor minus 2 inches... stood up straight, the length of elbow to floor will give you a good measurement of how the blade would flow during a spin,...
welcome from another MCM goer... i was the Kanan Jarrus at the con :D
ohhhh thats really nice :D
think your best bet for that, rather than actually damaging the metal, would be to print the 'damage' out on a transparent adhesive sheet and manually line it up... it won't have the 3D feel of the...
ohhh thanks, shall have a watch :D
lol sadly i'm just using ABS armor like this... so authentic blow torch might do more bad than good lol
