The beauty of Tru-Color is that IA can pull his RGBW LedEngin, replace it with a RRRR and alter one or two of his config files for either RR + RR flash, or FULL POWERRRRR. No re-wiring necessary.

She is a beauty. The paint job on the rear claw is excellent. Reminds me of fossils at the museum. If the Diatium power cell in the saber ever gives you, you can always beat people to death...
Congratulations to all the entrants.
There were some excellent entries. Its alway nice to see what folks can do with MHS parts and a little ingenuity.
Scintilla ends up winning a hard-fought...
Congratulations to all the entrants.
Special congrats to IA for his year-long epic build for THE PURGE. Also congrats to Naigon for ensuring that my saber would sit in LAST PLACE out of three...
While I would have liked to have seen Scintilla with a higher-end audio board, it was the more ambitious design, IMO.
I hear that the Igniter 2.0 + Tru-color had a very strong showing in the...
The LED and optics holder sit INSIDE the base of the bladeholder. The flange on the optics holder sits in the thread relief area of the choke. The heatsink then extends into the choke about .5"...
Placed my votes. Some really nice work in the MHS section. Too bad there weren't more entries in the custom sabers. I like to see the "unlimited" division entries.
I have sent an email to Lord Maul with the info and photo links for my 2012 entry, May 29, 2012
Darth Odious:
My thoughts exactly.
Not only does a "proto-saber" allow for a very large battery solution, it also lets you use a MUCH larger speaker, properly enclosed.
its hard to tell on camera of course but the "core" was safety-green, not white.
You could see the thick walls but it was pretty much all the same color.
At least with the "safety green" blade I had on my Wormwood saber, it was a THICKWALL blade. As such, it very much had a center core.
If you search here for "wormwood", you should find pics and...
I've been watching your progress on this one. The DEEP grooves and custom internal volume are top-notch. I was wondering just how you managed to cut rectangular shapes down the length of the main...
was I sick?
I have a thread over on fx-sabers.com/forum on my now completed custom BELL stunt saber.
No MHS in this one, but LED, resistors from TCSS.

180 degrees being "half a turn", you need to remove about .0275" from the end by sanding or other mechanical means
You need to take off .055" approximately to make a full 360 turn of the blade holder.
All you need to do is figure out your approximate angle of "offness", divide that by 360 and then take that...
Slothfurnace was talking about the HASBRO FX board. The Hasbro FX board uses BATTERY+ and SPK- leads.
If your board has SPK+ and SPK- leads, then you should use them.
the finish washers are a great addition.
brass, copper, black chrome
bh8 = blade holder #8
mhs gear = geared extension
box 7 = well, box #7
I remember a hilt that had an inflatable "blade" Not sure how old that one was, but it was "for the children"
Luxeon and Ledengin don't even LIST their Vr in their technical specs. They both say "these LEDs are not designed for reverse bias operation"
That means "please don't"
Looking at some other...
Sure they can. You just have to PUSH harder.
There is a reason why most diodes list their reverse voltage.
The ones I got "show" that they are common cathode, but they are in fact, common anode. I was aware of this when I ordered them.
If I had wired the LED according to the silkscreen on the star, it...
