I used a wide chisel - worked like a charm :)
Isn't those supposed to be triggered by the secondary switch wich has to be momentary? Works fine on mine, but I have two momentary switches...
My immense n00b-skills caused me to fry the LED - YAY! Is there a trick to remove the Star from the heatsink? It's stuck on there like a MF and I can't get it off, haha. Chisel? lol
I insulated the board with a thin dense foam I had lying around and wedged it underneath the switches... I don't think I shorted the actual board - hopefully it was just the LED. I tested the setup...
No, not when it fried the LED. But, I might have done that with a different LED afterwards to test if it was only the LED I fried...hmm. What happens if I attach the LED after removing the kill?

It seems to work fine outside the hilt. The PC gets quite warm just behind where the power wires are soldered onto it - is that normal? I'm a complete n00b when it comes to using the multimeter. My...
So, I had everything wired up (PC2, momentary switches w/light, killswitch) and it seemed to work beautiful. I started mounting/stuffing evegything into the hilt and then things started to go wrong...
YESSS!! It has arrived! My GF just called me, somewhat angry, and said the postman had just delivered two parcels she SUSPECTED was some MORE Star Wars related STUFF... hahaha Got slammed pretty hard...
Hehe! Looking at the total a full on all metal droid can be quite expensive (about 10k usd), but if you choose the light path of styrene you'll have a fully working droid for much much less (some...
My first ever attempt at using the lathe tool in the 3D software (Strata) - now I want a real lathe!! lol

There! Placed the order without the PC - hoping it will come back in stock asap. Swapped the blade holder for the style 22 that came back in stock this morning. Yay! SO looking forward to building...
Ah, I see. I'm used to the turnaround on droid parts, haha. Some of the parts only run every two years :D I'll spend a few days researching then. Thanks for your help so far!
Crap! Now the PC is out of stock D:
Maybe I should get a CF directly from Erv? My plan is to get the parts (shipped all the way to Norway, can take ages) in time for my vacation (last week of...
Ah! NUTS! I forgot the nuts - thanks a lot mate! :) I'll probably get both types of switches so I can swap them later on when I can hijack a computer with Windows on it. The extra switches I can use...
I'd be a very happy Wampa if anyone could have a quick look at my list and see if I missed something crucial to the build. Interstellar shipping to the outer rim takes forever, and I'm hoping to get...
This might be me having language issues, but am I understanding it correctly if it says that this holder won't work with a charge port? If so, why? I plan to use 2x14500 + PC2.0...
Funds - may the wife never know... lol! So far my wish list at the saber shop is about 450usd. Thats about twice what my monthly droid spending have been. In other words - if you build a saber with...
Just do it mate! The guys over at astromech.net will welcome you with open arms. They are the most helpful bunch of people on the interweb ;)
Any Norwegian users (is there any?) might want to know that Toys R Us are having a massive 70% off both the Luke and Vader HFX sabers. I picked up one of each at 100 usd a piece
hahahaha, PRICELESS!
Hehehe - one of our parts suppliers is looking into that very gadget! The biggest problem is the lack of space/height inside the dome. A full scale Luke saber is too high - it will catch on the frame...
Hi Rob! Small nerdworld, eh? :D
Evilpancreas - the type of all metal droid I'm building doesn't involve any mad metalworking skills I'm afraid. Some modding here and there, but that's about it....
Hi everyone!
I'm a sabern00b. I'm currently building an all metal Astromech, but as some of you may know building a full on droid is a tedious business - Soooo I want a side-project to fiddle with...
