Awesome! Thanks Fender!
Fender, do you remember the name of the spray?
Should be there for 2-3 days. Looking forward to seeing some old friends too!
How big is the board and how difficult was it to get it out?
The Maul one is nice, I saw a video of it, it doesn't sound as loud as the other ones. I love that you can get 2 and combine...
BTW, I'm ecstatic about the saber - love the design and the build quality is outstanding.
I can't Thank Fender and Luminara enough for their hard work and creativity.
Plus never had a CF, now I...
Sign me up for one, looks great with an elegantly simple implementation.
I used the Radio Shack transistor wiring which lets you use Luxs/etc. Works great.
Looks more than it is, its rounded but I may round it more if it becomes an issue. Its also sanded to round the edge to avoid having a sharp edge. When the blade is inserted it minimizes the emitter...
Ok going to Target...
Still haven't decided a name for it - its made from a sinktube base with the overlay with the chrome polished off. Internally its a 2010 Obi-wan soundboard with a Lux III Red/Orange, TCSS premium...
Good thread, I'm changing over my saber to rechargeable Li-Ions in order to get a brighter LED and reduce the weight of the hilt a bit.
Nothing like having the saber be so heavy due to batteries...
There are a few good places closeby to meet.
We could meet at the Orlando Ale House on International Drive, its down the street from the convention center. Its a family restaurant so people under...
Any plans on when and where? C5 is getting closer...
I found my solution - but I'm going to do it and then take a photo and see if anyone could really tell the difference. Its elegantly simple.
BTW, I really don't want to redo a sinktube, that's...
Its going to be a Cree royal blue with a blue dot illuminated AV switch and a Yoda MR soundboard with a 4 AAA battery pack and a TCSS deluxe speaker. The pommel is an Acerocket Obi-Wan.
I was drilling in the illuminated switch hole and went too far. A regular screw will barely cover the hole but what is the best way to secure it? Epoxy?
You can see it here, its covered by the...
The Radio Shack Reed Relay works fine. The potential issue that was mentioned is that it could potentially blow out since its 6v but I've had one hooked up in a saber or on the bench and haven't had...
Another great Jay-gon creation!
The ring switches just tend to be less bright, probably due to their design and how the 1 LED is dispersed. I'm switching the 3 sabers I constructed to dot ones,...
A Yoda saber in his display. That's it. Supposedly there were supposed have Kit Fitso and a Plo Koon displayed with their costumes but I did not see them there or in the weapons display.
Went to the show last night in Orlando - for awhile I felt like I was 8 years old again. Its definitely worth going if they come to your area!
We were sitting on the floor about 10 rows back and...
Great display! Holds them well and gives you a great look at each one.
I'm an old school MMO player myself, I enjoy the interaction once you find a good group of people to play with.
I'm a vet of:
City of Heroes
Note that its still a year+ out from release (Spring/Summer 2011), so graphics should be updated and nice and pretty by that point.
Looking very nice and balanced:
Everyone gets something cool and useful from the video, not just Sith and Jedi.
That's really cool! Can't wait to see the sabers and the costume.
Doing Dragon Con again or heading further south for C5?
