Caine, I always knew you were gonna get into saber building. It was just a matter of when. You can't just collect custom sabers and not want to build your own. Eventually you just get an itch to...
They may not be comfortable, but they look good! Nicely done, I like the rough weathered look. Your hilt looks very industrial and OT styled.
Great job. I love seeing good looking replicas come out of MHS and shroudwork just to show that you don't necessarily need access to a machine shop's array of tools to make a nice saber.
Nice. I'm digging the shape of your lower grip shroud.
I am a huge fan of your magnetic covertec-style button. It just looks beefy and strong.
Nice combination of MHS parts. I think you have a pretty good eye for design - I think the middle of the saber would have been rather bland had you not added those three accent LEDs. They help...
Yo Caine! Good to see you start building sabers. It's about time! =P
That's pretty much what the pictures show, Shadar.
I meant my razor. It can do without one of the three heads, right? =P
Holy crap! The new ones look great too! I have GOTTA cannibalize my razor to try this out. It's got three heads...it doesn't need ALL three, does it?
Those look absolutely terrific. That's a great idea!
Worst comes to worst, you could try and Dremel that wavy pringles shape with a sinktube; you just won't have a solid pommel...unless maybe you filled it in with epoxy or something and used chrome...
Those look good.
As an aside- holy crap, I didn't realize just how many different MHS parts TCSS actually offered until they were all lined up together like that.
I have to agree on sek with this one. The holes bother a me a little because of how awesome the milled portion is. I LOVE that the milled out portion brings the aesthetics of the Anakin RotS even...
You definitely have mad skillz (yes, with a "z"). I'm looking forward to seeing what designs you come up with, especially since you've demonstrated that your execution is top-notch.
Ooooh. Nice! I like the way you executed the color scheme- black with silver highlights instead of the traditional silver with black highlights. The reversal of the standard silver-on-black really...
I like the combo of MHS parts. Can't say I'm wild about those high-profile accent LEDs though (aesthetically speaking). I think those would look excellent placed together with some knobs and...
That is a nice design! It has clean lines and yet has layered detail. Do like =D
The cabling adds a nice extra sci-fi touch to it too. I hope you have a couple other designs up your sleeve. I'd...
Ooh ooh can I be part of a disappearing thread too? Please please oh pretty please?
The "user" has also only posted once. What, no follow-up to "her" self-introduction?
Welcome to TCSS! Let's have some pics of your costume!!! (I'm a huuuuuge Vader fanatic =P)
For one of those saber conversions, you need to just make a belthanger luke replica (ie, just a cosmetic conversion, nonluxeon). That way you can go out with a camera that has a functioning...
REALLY nice saber, especially considering it's your second custom-machined one. What tools did you have access to, aside from the ever-versatile Dremel?
Now why would you think that shipping or going through customs with this would ever present a problem??
I had alot of fun with the packaging here, especially the "weathering" on the...
This shouldn't need too much setup or explaining. Something something something friend something something something birthday something something I like to make stuff. This was a very relaxing...
